I Sense a Plot Bunny

So I was watching Fiddler on the Roof (excellent movie btw) and I made the comment that Tzeitel sounds like Sidle, as in Sara Sidle from CSI. My mother jokingly said something along the lines of, "hey, Sara's a Hebrew name. Maybe she's secretly Jewish." My muse liked the idea and is now dragging Sara kicking and screaming into my world. More on this later, maybe.
On a completely unrelated (well except for the Jewish factor I suppose) note, I've been experimenting with different ways to tie my headscarf. Some are quite fancy and would be good for dressier occasions. I need to buy a wider range of fabrics though. They had some real nice ones online. Hmm. *starts thinking*

Writer's Block: Little White Lies

Do you think it's okay to tell little lies about small things to avoid hurting someone's feelings? Or is there no such thing as a harmless lie?
I honestly don't believe there's such a thing as a harmless lie. It's a religious as well as a practical thing to me. I think that in lying to avoid hurting someone's feelings can lead to worse problems in the future. Suppose you're friend is a writer. She asks you what you think of a piece of her writing. You think it's terrible but lie instead and tell her it's wonderful. Content in your appraisal she sends it to a publisher and is quickly rejected. In tears she comes to you asking why you thought it was well written. What should you have done? In my not so humble opinion you should have given her some constructive criticism. I know it might sting her but it's best in the long run.
I know that example seems a little far fetched but you never know what might happen as a result of a "white lie".

Writer's Block: Listen to This

If a friend asked you for some new music recommendations, what would you suggest?
Mmm, I listen to a lot of different stuff. Probably Within Temptation, Evanescence, Linkin Park, The Birthday Massacre, they're all sorta dark but really good. And Ofra Haza, Sarit Hadad, and Hadag Nahash if you don't mind listening to songs in Hebrew. Israeli music is a lot different than eastern stuff too. It's mostly in minor key so it's kinda weird at first, but nice. So yeah, those are my recommendations, take 'em or leave 'em.

I am on a roll, 3209 words so far. That's my record for one sitting, though it's probably not that impressive for a more experienced writer. But I'm still relatively new, so I'm pleased with myself. On another note of writing, I creep myself out sometimes with the creepiness of my writing. Anyway, off to find a beta.

What the heck, seriously? I just got back into contact with a friend who I haven't seen in five years, which is good of course. What's annoying is we only have phone contact right now. We've been trying to plan dinner but first it got postponed from Thursday to today and now it's been moved to Sunday. It's driving me insane. Plus my plans with my other friend keep going through as well. And I think I'm sick, my throat feels like someone took a piece of sandpaper to it.
On the bright side though I just wrote 1814 words of my new story that's been stewing unwritten for a few moths. I'm quite pleased with myself. It looks alright so far, though I still need a beta, I'll have to go find a volunteer somewhere. Maybe I'll be able to find someone who can actually put up with me. That's be a real miracle. Well, I have to go write some more. Ciao.

Writer's Block: Comic Instinct

Do animals have a sense of humor?
Are you kidding me? Of course they have a sense of humor! I've seen the look on my cat's face whenever I do something stupid. She's laughing at me, I just know it. Other things she gets a giggle from: sitting on me when I'm sleeping so I wake up in the middle of the night from her weight and all I see is a huge pair of glowing green eyes, I tend to scream real loud when I think an alien is trying to smother me; throwing up a hairball right where I put my feet when I get out of bed; sitting in the middle of the stairs when I'm carrying down a big loud of laundry so that I don't see her and go flying.
But somehow despite all of this I still love her bunches. Gorgeous brat that she is.

Whooot! First Entry!

Hi y'all who are actually reading this. My mom's at church and my brother and dad are asleep right now. Which means I have no one to annoy so I'm on here. You should be flattered. No? Fine then. So I'm busy procrastinating on my story. Someone needs to hit me upside the head or I'll never finish it. Any volunteers? A virtual slap should work. I think my muse is gonna jump outta my head and strangle me soon. Either that or my head'll explode from an excess of thoughts.
